China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism has called for enhanced safety precautions during the May Day holiday, which is expected to see a tourism boom.

針對五一假期期間將出現的出游高峰，文化和旅游部提醒要加強安全防范措施。

【單詞講解】

Precaution這個詞是caution加了前綴pre構成的，caution本身就表示“謹慎、當心;提醒、警告”等意思，比如，我們在公共場所見到的黃色警示牌“Caution! Wet floor!(小心地滑)”等，這里加了pre這個前綴，就是表示practice caution in advance(提前進入謹慎、小心的狀態)，也就是“預防、提防”的意思，“采取預防措施”一般會用take precaution或者take the precaution of (doing) something表示，比如：I took the precaution of locking money in the safe. (我把錢都鎖緊保險柜了，以防萬一。)

注意交通安全

Travelers who plan long-distance driving should check car conditions, licenses and insurance to ensure safe driving.

長途自駕出行前，仔細檢查車況，并檢查相關證件、保險是否齊全有效，確保行駛安全。

Drowsy driving should be avoided, and driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol is strictly prohibited.

途中避免疲勞駕駛，杜絕酒駕、醉駕、毒駕等違法違規行為。

The ministry warned travelers against possible extreme weather in some regions of southern China, saying trips to mountainous areas, valleys and areas next to water should be avoided in the case of bad weather.

南方部分地區容易出現極端天氣，惡劣天氣時應避免到山地、峽谷、水邊等危險地點游玩。

謹慎選擇高風險項目

Travelers should take extra cautions when participating in high-risk entertainment activities, said the ministry, advising travelers to choose entertainment activities based on their age and health conditions.

根據自身實際情況，謹慎參與高風險旅游項目，根據年齡特點、身體狀況選擇適宜參與的項目。

文明有禮出游

樹立文明出游意識，愛惜生態環境，不隨地亂扔垃圾，不隨意投喂動物、踐踏花草。

杜絕以下不文明行為：

擾亂公共場所秩序(undermining public order)

公共交通工具上行為不當(acting inappropriately on public transport)

破壞私人或公共財物(damaging private or public property)

違反當地風俗習慣(disrespecting local customs)

破壞文物古跡(sabotaging historical exhibits)

參與賭博、色情等非法活動(engaging in gambling or illegal sexual activities)

破壞生態環境，違反野生動植物保護規定(destroying the environment or violating the protection of wildlife)

擾亂旅游場所秩序(disrupting the public order at tourist resorts)
